"Mount Rainier"

"If you’ve been itching to get to the mountains, you’ll love the achingly beautiful alpine landscape and wildflower covered meadows of Mount Rainier. The kids will have fun taking a tram ride at Northwest Trek (on the way to or from the mountain), exploring the 1887 homestead at Pioneer Farm, hiking kid-appropriate trails and participating in the Junior Ranger program. Everyone will enjoy family-friendly one-day adventures and camping in the forest.
Stay at: White Pass Village Inn Condominiums or the historic Paradise Inn"

We saw this and it looks WONDERFUL to us, but we don't know anyone who has gone.  Maybe the family would like to see Oregon and check it out.  Let us know if you go!

Camp Howdy Horse Camp

.

"Camp Howdy offers a summer of weekly day camps that teach kids to ride and care for horses. Based on CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) instruction, each session includes mounted lessons, lectures on horsemanship theory and safety, horse related crafts and activities, as well as an introduction to the wholesome ranch life. Campers participate with pride in the routine hands on care and handling of horses and find out what it really means to own a horse.
Kids ages 6 to 15, beginner through intermediate, will love Camp Howdy. Each session is five days. Group numbers are small, so book early.
At the start of each session, campers are evaluated, matching mounts and lesson plans to the ability of the individual."
