Girls Tees, Please!

What to do when it's raining, and you are
looking for some inspiration? Check out some cute
girls tees--in particular Crew Cuts! We love the chic,
yet simplistic styles of these tees--and they are sure to
make you smile! Just look at those antlers on the chihuahua!
Splendid! We carry these tees in the shop for a quarter of the
original prices... did we mention that some are on sale on top of
that?!

falling into fall

first fall frost

Pack your Chanel tote ... we are dreaming of a drive down I 24 to Monteagle or Chattanooga to see the leaves changing.   When the frost and cold days hit here last week there was a chance of no color this year....however looking out the door of the store I can see the trees around the GH Mall beginning to go orange and the ones at the Valet Parking are ruby red.  What a lovely view.
So pull out a sweater and start leaf collecting.

This is what we would wear. A hat is an absolute necessity if you still want the top back or windows down.  Also great on a bad hair day. Scarf adds that Isadora look.  Be sure to still use a bit of sunscreen and wear those dark glasses.

Henri Beguelian $195

These are so much fun but more importantly they are warm and fleecy perfect for tramping about the parks or just a walk around your neighborhood with the kids and dog. Imagine yourself on the path below.

Persimmon trench by BCBG $78.  Per Se trousers $72

We thought this persimmon  trench might be great for a walk around the Sewanee Campus if  it happens to drizzle.

If you have some time do try to visit Monteagle but if not ... well just get out and walk around it is good for you.  Of course we walk around looking at everyone's clothes.. Just kidding sort of. And after the walk around check out Pearl's restaurant we hear it has finally reopened.

We just had to add this photo.   Persimmon muffins and tea ...a foggy afternoon treat.

What You’ll Need:
1/2 C. (1 stick) Unsalted Butter
3/4 C. Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 C. Oat Bran
1/4 C. All Purpose (white) Flour
1 TSP. Baking Soda
1 TSP. Kosher Salt
1 TSP. Cinnamon
4-6 Persimmons (very ripe)
1/3 C. Buttermilk
2 TBSP.  Orange Zest (finely grated)
1 C. Sugar
2 Large Eggs
 via

METHOD:
Preheat oven to 350. Butter or oil muffin trays. I used two 6-cavity trays (each cavity holds an amount of 1/2 C). In a medium bowl, whisk the flours and oat bran together with baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside. Scoop persimmon flesh into a blender and puree until smooth. Measure one 1 cup of the puree, place in a different medium bowl, and whisk in buttermilk and orange zest. Set mixture aside.
Whisk the eggs by hand. Process butter in food processor (with plastic blade) until light and creamy (about 2 minutes), add sugar and blend until fluffy (about 4 minutes). Gradually add beaten eggs until mixture is well combined. Slowly add persimmon mixture; beat until integrated. Add dry ingredients in 3 batches, beating until well combined.
Pour batter into the prepared muffin cups (fill three-fourths of the cup with batter, otherwise will overflow) and bake for one hour. Let muffins cool for 20 minutes.

River Gorge Fall colors

Tennessee in the fall can really be breathtaking...how lucky we are!

For the second day change the trouser look with this lovely tweed  Per Se skirt ( the new longer look).

A foggy early fall day

This is that drizzle we mentioned earlier that might require that lovely trench coat.  Don't forget your hat.

Just  a suggestion...buy jeans, these are Paige, one or possibly two sizes above and add a good quality leather belt to get the real boyfriend trouser look.....and no muffin top.
