southern charm

ironing.....it is NOT for everyone
however it gives me a chance to watch really bad reality tv shows without a LOT of GUILT.
all set up with lots of cotton i watched Southern Charm.
the chandeliers are glamorous, the lawns immaculate, and it is not often i get to imagine a chilled drink delivered by a chef/butler on silver tray.   the behavior is of course ridiculous .

at work we all are reminiscing about our visits to the lovely town.

Charleston we love YOUR REAL class and charm and architecture.

going somewhere

going somewhere?

if you are up very early on Sundays, too early,
you may hear Rick Steves on NPR.  his fabulous stories of travel make me happy knowing my passport is still current.
Venice, Ireland, Switzerland ... dream on

oh the places to go

" On Nicaragua’s Little Corn Island, the fresh lobster is cheap; the hammocks plentiful; and the pace slow. Factor in a new hotel and spa with 16 oceanfront cabanas, and vacationing here is more blissful than ever.
It’s just one of the places that will appeal to travelers seeking what’s new and notable in 2014. They remind us that there are still discoveries to be made, even in seemingly familiar destinations—and that with travel, too, timing is everything. " ( http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/best-places-to-travel-in-2014 )
i may not get to any of these destinations this year but i know a little place a bit closer

50 and looking fabulous

how to wear fifty well

Ines de la Fressange, is a dynamo!
in addition to her already busy life she is now a designer for Uniglo.

Her new collection introduces some fresh ideas for a casual new look for a woman in her PRIME.

a little more about Ines

A model for Chanel in the '80s, wife and mother, author, and representative for the lovely Roger Vivier shoe line and now a collection creator for Uniglo

".... people kept bringing up Parisian style ( so often ) that I started to think about it, to wonder if there was something to it, and that’s how I ended up with this reputation for being the ultimate Parisian. I didn’t choose it, but I’m very proud of it. But I think there are a lot of preconceptions. For example, there is this idea that elegance means wearing high-heeled shoes, a hat and gloves. Whereas in fact, wearing sneakers with more sophisticated pants, or mixing day and evening wear, slightly unexpected things — that’s what’s really interesting. But it’s never elegant to be too self-conscious. And when I see myself described as a fashion icon, it’s flattering, but it also makes me smile. The other day, for example, I went to the Chanel show and everyone was asking where I got my jacket. I had bought it from a mail order catalog."  ( from an interview in Womens Wear Daily)

we are calling this " life wear "
